About Practice

Schwartz Medical Group in Norwood, Dover, Westwood, Dedham, Canton, Stoughton, Attleboro, and West Roxbury, Massachusetts, is a primary care practice devoted to adult medicine. 

Opened in 1969 by managing director Melvin J. Schwartz, MD, and his wife, Kay, a registered nurse, Schwartz Medical Group has expanded care and services with a team of doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical assistants, and various technicians.

The internal medicine practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of many chronic health conditions, including diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and hypothyroidism. The team also offers a pain management program. 

Additionally, Schwartz Medical Group has been approved by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to certify patients for the Medical Use of Marijuana Program. They offer medical marijuana certification for patients with qualifying conditions, such as chronic pain, glaucoma, anxiety, and depression.

Convenient to Norwood Hospital, the primary care practice has easy access to all public transportation stops. Additionally, the office has free parking.

The group practice provides primary bedside care and health management for patients and has an on-call service that provides telephonic medical triage for area medical practices, clinics, and hospitals. 

Seeing a need for medical care for homebound patients, Schwartz Medical Group has a Healthy at Home program and provides care for assisted-living residents and families in their home.

All patients seeking certification must START the process by scheduling an appointment with a Certifying Physician. This information is designed to help you understand the law, qualifying conditions, and other important information. We offer our Medical Marijuana Program via telehealth for HOMEBOUND and HOSPICE PATIENTS!
